Pedals2People Free Bike Tuneup

The good folks at Pedals2People set up shop in West Central Community Center parking lot yesterday during the West Central Neighbor Day celebration in Cannon Park. Several kids showed up immediately and many more during the day. I didn't take any pictures but I did get some video of the event.

See if you can pick out the volunteer interjecting some humor.

Great video Hank!

Who would do that? It couldn't have been me, I have long hair and a beard.

What is so humorous about someone knocking an out-of-round tire back into round with a hammer? You sure know how to make a fellow cyclist self-conscious.

Sweet video, Hank. I have an idea how much work was involved. Super job, Beth.

Cool video Hank. Beth did a nice job in the interview/explanation portion too.

Thanks, everyone. I felt bad about not taking photos, especially since I got so busy helping knock out-of-round tires back into round.

Oh, and then there was that lesson on how to get the tire to explode and make the bike owner standing close by almost mess his pants.

That wasn't me either.

If I had a hammer...

Beth is super cute, and very articulate for the cause.

This video could not have been possible without the demo on hammering a tire - also the exploding bike tube to frighten those that get to close.... brilliant
