Can I Count On Your Support Today?

I occasionally get phone calls from solicitors trying to raise money for one charity or another and I always turn them down. It's not that I don't want to give to any charities. But when a third party is raising the money for them, they always take a cut so not all, and now we learn sometimes not much, of your money actually goes to the charity--if it's actually a charity.

Excellent reportage from the Tampa Bay Times.

NIST has proplosed a new unit to measure inverse credibity: the obama.

The obama is a unit on an exponential ten Deception scale, similar in function to the points on the Richter scale.

Phone solicitors are usually in the 3-5 obama range. Spam can rate as high as 7.4 obamas.

Interestingly, President Obama tops the scale at 10.0 obamas.
