Retail Bureaucracy

We were out and about when Kathy remembered Steph needed to pick out material for the back of her quilt so I accompanied them to Joann's Fabrics. Steph picked out her material and Kathy took it to the cutting station. There were no other customers at the station. Kathy asked to have the material cut.

Woman: "Do you have a number?"

Kathy and Steph look around to make sure they are the only customers there. Kathy looks at the number dispenser and pulls the tab.

The woman looked up at the display above her. It showed "26".

Woman: "Now serving number 27." Over the store intercom.

Kathy hands her number 27.

On the inside Steph was all, "Are you freakin' kiddin' me??? We're the only people here!" On the outside she was quiet, but her eyes conveyed her thoughts.

This supersized bumper sticker was adamantly displayed on a truck outside the store.
Watch out for those right wing sewing clubs. They probably have concealed carry permits.

This happened to me at JoAnn's in Spokane... but not at stores in other towns...

The Spokane store must have a "'rigid" training manager...

Let's go in together and refuse to take a number... Wouldn't that be fun?

I'll be there next weekend...

Let me know...
