Bike Happenings

Monday - Bike to Work Week Kickoff Breakfast at 7:00 am in Riverfront Park right across the street from City Hall. Free pancakes courtesy of Mountain Gear and coffee from Roast House Coffee. BTW T-shirts will be on sale. Wheel Sport Central bike shop no-drop road ride at 6:15 pm at 1711 North Division. The Spokane Bicycle Club general membership meeting is at 6:30 pm at the Riverview Center Community Building at 1801 E. Upriver Drive. Matthew Larsen, local wheel builder, is the guest speaker. Spokane Rocket Velo Monday night soft pedal no-drop ride. Meet at Downriver Grill at 6:00 pm.

Tuesday - Tuesday night bike ride (TuNiBiRi), 7:00 pm at the Riverfront Park water fountain. Twilight Series racing at 6:00 pm at the Spokane County Raceway.

Wednesday - Stop by one or more of the Bike To Work Week Energizer Stations. Ladies Night at Two Wheel Transit. Doors open at 6:00 pm and presentations start at 6:30. Learned about nutrition, core and flexibility, clothing, riding technique, and mechanics, including flat tire repair. Bicycle Butler shop no-drop ride at 6:15 pm. Wednesday Night Mountain Bike Race at Riverside State Park. Registration opens at 5:00 PM. Race starts at 6:30. This Bike Life shop road ride. See their Facebook page for details. BTW Ride of Silence at 6:00 pm. Meet at Riverfront Park between the water fountain and the runners statues.

Thursday -  Spokane Valley BTW pancake breakfast at 7:00 am at Centerplace near Mirabeau Point adjacent to the Centennial Trail. This Bike Life evening shop ride. See their Facebook page for details. Two Wheel Transit bike shop road ride. Meet at the Manito Tap House, 3011 South Grand Blvd, at 6:15 pm. Spokane Rocket Velo Chase the Sun no-drop ride. Leaves North Division bike shop at 6:00 pm sharp.

Friday - Bike to Work Week wrap up party at The NoLi Brewhouse, 1003 East Trent.

Saturday - Two Wheel Transit shop road ride. Meet at the Manito Tap House, 3011 South Grand Blvd,  at 8:15 am. Summer Parkways is holding the second Kidical Mass at 1:00 pm in the Chief Garry neighborhood. Kids learn how to ride on the street and are escorted on a three mile ride where they apply their traffic riding skills.

Test ride Trek road and mountain bikes at the Trek Demo Days at Camp Sekani, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, May 18-19.
