While I was ripping
Bachman-Turner Overdrive's album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, from vinyl to mp3 I looked over the notes on the album liner and saw this:

Joe Tex was The Rapper, a name which came from the "talking portion" of many of his songs. I don't remember hearing about rap until the 80's. The BTO album with these notes came out in 1973.
